The Midland Continental Railroad Depot in Wimbledon, North Dakota, United States, was built in 1913 and was moved in 1920. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
It is a combination passenger and freight depot, designed to allow one person to operate both functions and also to be built quickly and economically. It was deemed significant as the only surviving Midland Continental Railroad balloon-frame railroad station.
The depot is now the Midland Continental Depot Transportation Museum, with displays about the Midland Continental Railroad and local singer Peggy Lee, whose father was the depot agent from 1934-1937. • What a wonderful place. The 'double' museum (Railroad and Peggy Lee) was being staffed by two elderly volunteers. They took us under their wing and guided us through the small museum with 'behind the story' information on nearly everything in the two story building. I can't even remember if there was an official 'fee' but we made a large donation as this little place far exceeded many of the other museums that we paid good dollars to visit.
  • Very nice museum for a small town. Peggy Lee museum was very interesting and very well done. I would recommend it to anyone!
