This place is a hidden gem. We were struggling to find a ski trail in the Minocqua area where we could take our dog. Finally found WinMan trails, and I am so glad we did! The place is very easy to... more »

Super fun bike trails! Wish I had a better bike with shocks and probably should have brought a helmet. They do have some you can barrow inside for free. Nicely maintained but there are places where a.... more »

Great mountain bike trails. Hard enough, but not too hard. Great flow to them.

A hidden gem in Wisconsin's north woods. After expanding the trails in summer 2019, Winman will be worth a side day-trip for anybody banging around the CAMBA bike trails further west. More on that below. Winman has a solid network of intermediate to intermediate-advanced trails. Styles range from old-school cross country to swoopy bermed flow, and even includes a side-by-side slalom course (hint - right side is faster...). Beginners can also ride some of the double-track ski trails. All the trails were in great shape. Strava segments exist for just about everything. The trails do wind around themselves a bit and there are a lot of intersections, including with some ski-only and snowshoe trails. But there is a method to the layout, they are generally well-marked, and we were well-oriented after one loop. I can see why some other reviewers noted it, but for me was not bothersome enough to even remove one star. The trailhead is FANTASTIC. A huge, airy sitting area with tables, cushy chairs, and a kitchen-like corner surrounding a working fireplace for those cooler days and the snow-loving crowds. There are six bathrooms that are nicer than what a lot of homes have. I'd actually give this place six stars if the bathrooms had showers (there is room)! In Aug 2019 the trails are set to expand to about 15 miles, and there's another expansion planned after that. Given that mileage, the variety of riding, the facilities, and proximity to restaurants, etc in nearby Manitowish Waters, Winman is seriously worth the drive. It's only 60 minutes from the CAMBA Namakegan cluster, and only about 90 minutes from Cable, so if you're riding those trails and want some bike-park like fun, make the drive. It's worth it.
