Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum reviews
We have been stopping at this hotel for several years on our trips north and south and would not stay anywhere else. The staff is excellent, the rooms comfortable, and the restaurant excellent.

We really enjoyed our visit to this small museum that honors this US First Lady who grew up in this very building (upstairs with an abundance of family.) The opening video was very well done, and our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. They have more they want to do, but what they have done so far is enlightening! Exhibits include timeline of her life and a genealogy showing her direct descendance from Pocahontas.
This is a must see stop! This is a charming, fascinating and highly informative little museum tucked on Main Street in downtown Wytheville. Farron Smith, the curator (who along with her husband created and run the site and the hotel across the street) was gracious and gave us a private and amazing tour of the museum. The building, the birthplace and home to Edith Bolling Wilson, the second wife of Woodrow Wilson, has on display furniture, family memorabilia and photos. It also has a small but wonderful gift shop dedicated to the late First Lady who visited the building in 1960. After watching a brief but moving video of the life of Mrs. Wilson, we shown the private rooms (not yet fully restored) above the mesuem where the Bolling Family lived. This museum is a gem and well worth seeing (and no admission charge).😊
