The world's biggest log hotel, Old Faithful Inn provides unobstructed views of the world-famous geyser "Old Faithful" named because of the predictable nature of its eruptions. Designed by architect Robert Reamer, the building features a multi-story lobby with a massive stone fireplace flanked by long frame wings that house guest rooms. One of the country's finest examples of the "Golden Age" of rustic resort architecture, the inn joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 as the centerpiece of the historic district that includes several other buildings and the geyser itself. Constructed using only local materials, the inn remains one of the last great park lodges of the American West, attracting as many visitors today as it did when it opened in 1904. • Great location in the park to see the sights and enjoy lots of hiking. Rooms are decent - we stayed in newer wing - food options were limited but we were there over COVID so understandable. Keep in...

  • The location is perfect for getting around the park, especially getting places early before the crowds and when the animals are most active. Also the view of old faithful from our room was fantastic.....  more

  • The views and everything is absolutely beautiful, the service was great, now for the room that we had was a different story, it was extremely small, the bed was uncomfortable , the smell of dust in the room was very strong it could have been since it was the opening weekend of the hotel but unknown. I would highly recommend the snow lodge for a comfort room which is located right behind this one.
  • Unfortunately wasn't able to stay here, but did get the tour. It's an amazing structure with an amazing history. Notes for future visitors: 1. There is a tour of the hotel that lasts about 45 minutes. Times are listed near the center of the great room. 2. The dinning room stops taking reservations at 330, and starts seating at 5, but if your party is small, they may be able to seat you. 3. If the yellow buses are running for the 150th anniversary, they load from the door by the check in counter. Unsure if you need a reservation, but they stop.running around 330. 4. To get up to the crows nest, yoh have to be on the list. They only allow 8 people per day, so try to get on the list when you arrive. 5. The best spot to watch old faithful is from the second story patio, near the bar. There is outdoor seating and not many people. Above all, keep in mind this is a historic building. Be sure to have fun, but be respectful.
