Scenic Drive · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Meandering along a mountain creek through the heart of the park, Virginia Cascade Drive leads to the north side of the waterfall offering views along the way. Most of this one-way, scenic road is narrow, with sheer drops unprotected by guardrails along the entire route, so drive carefully and watch out for hairpins. As you pass Virginia Cascade, you will come across a small picnic area with a restroom, overlooking a verdant meadow. • This is a short one-way drive that offers a pretty view of the Cascades on the Gibbon River. Not much parking, so jump out for a quick view and photo.  more »
  • Short drive with beautiful landscape from the main road. We found a small beautiful fall. Road was narrow and interesting. We saw many people ate lunches. Would not mind to walk around the fall next.....  more »

  • Side road of the park. Probably the least interesting of the side roads.
  • We took the side road nor knowing what we would find. It was beautiful and probably the least crowded site that we visited in Yellowstone. There was a nice picnicking site with a creek nearby. The falls are great, as you would expect. It should be on your list for the trip to Yellowstone.
