  • I am so glad I didn’t go to the tourist attraction and came to this beach instead. The pictures will speak for themselves.  more »
  • what a nice clean beach that runs for quite a while with very clean sand. Small waves make it nice for the kids. One of the better beaches in the Maine area.  more »
  • I enjoy long sands. I take my kids there at least 2 or 3 times a year despite having many other beach choices nearby. It lives up to its name. It is about a full mile of beach. During high tide a good bit of that is covered but it doesn't take long for it to recede and the sand to be exposed. The beach is smooth and flat which is great for kids. Very little current. Lots of room to run, play catch, build sand castles and all those shorts of beach activities. Waves are medium. Not too high but plenty of them rolling in. Parking is metered and right on the beach; easy access. The only downside is that the public bathrooms are limited. There is a bathhouse about halfway down the beach, closest to the sandiest half of the beach.
  • Wonderful...everything! My daughter had a blast on the waves...bigger than any other beach...well, any in NH. This is in Maine. The food was great...the people for most part were friendly (that varies no matter WHERE you go) The view of the lighthouse...the sky...the beach..water...all so memorable...the sand of this beach is extra tiny grain....soft almost therapeutic to touch and walk on...GO....before it gets too cold!!! The beach after the hotel is better for walking etc....much more sand vs rocky.
