Visit a 1.6 km (1 mi) long white-sand beach and go for a swim, stroll, or just relax at Long Sands Beach. Although bustling with tourists from mid-June to the first week of September, with as many as 3,000-5,000 visitors per day, the beach offers a good number of parking spaces and access for people with disabilities. Participate in popular activities, such as volleyball, swimming, and surfing, with lifeguards on duty between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm during high season. You can rent rafts and umbrellas, or pop into one of the nearby restaurants for some shade and a fresh meal. • great location for quiet walks on the beach, listening to the waves, and watching surfers. Water was too chilly in April for most bathers.

  • Beautiful beach in York, Maine! Plenty of parking right next to the beach, you pay hourly at the kiosk. It's right next to Stone's Throws and Sun & Surf which were both fantastic restaurants.
  • Beautiful long strip of beach--if you can find parking. Limited hourly parking located on the street, but it disappears quickly. Lots of white sand, but also a lot of rocky areas to dig around in if that's your thing. View of the Nubble Lighthouse in the distance. Can get very crowded and because it's one long flat expanse there's no sense of privacy anywhere.
