  • This is one of the entrances to Yosemite National Park. It is probably 1-2 hire drive from the Yosemite valley. Its pretty secluded area with some beautiful waterfall trails in the area. The one catch here is that the entrance to this area closes by 5 pm. The reservoir is also beautiful.
  • A huge reservoir with some nice hikes. Hetch Hetchy is not only beautiful but also educational. We learned that this dam serves water to 2.7mil residences in the Bay Area. It’s easy to park your car and the roads are nicely paved. Ranger Penrose was super friendly to us, pointing out several features about the dam that aren’t written on the postings. For example, looking up, it’s possible to see remnants of the old cement foundry that was built onsite for the dams construction, and a rust colored stain on the rocks opposite is from iron that was used to hang lighting. It’s super windy on the dam so make sure to hold on to your hats:)
