Replete with creeks, towering trees, and rolling stretches of grassland, Tuolumne Meadows offers an array of options for hiking, climbing, and exploring the great outdoors of Yosemite National Park. Leave your car at one of the many small parking lots spaced out along the main road and explore the area, which features sprawling meadows surrounded by densely forested areas and backdrop of granite hills and mountains. Hit the trail and wander the meadows' open expanses or swing by the visitor center for a map and more information about popular routes. Many visitors head for one of the many granite domes in the meadows and climb them for a panoramic view of the alpine scenery. • Even in the fall this is a wonderful spot, and much quieter than the valley. We stopped on our second day in the Park to have lunch at the Parsons Lodge.  more »
  • On the Tioga Pass road lies this wonderful place to take thousands of photos, the step of its crystalline waters by these meanders is a real postcard

  • Gorgeous Alpine meadow, almost untouched by the tourist masses in the valley. It’s a bit of a drive and has almost no facilities, so keep that in mind when visiting. Weather is cool, even in summer when the valley is roasting. Pacific Crest Trail comes down near here, so you may encounter hikers at the general store. If you’re looking for a short hike, a trip to the soda springs is recommended. The meadow sits over 8,000 feet in elevation and won’t be open until the snow melts. Ask before you start driving. Keep in mind that some members of your party may be sensitive to high elevation. We ended up leaving early due to one person feeling really miserable.
  • This is such a cool place!! We watched the sunset here and it was awesome. There are places you can walk on off the beaten path and it was fun to just go out and explore. Definitely bring bug spray though, we got attacked by mosquitos. If you are driving Tioga road, you definitely want to stop here
