  • We had a great time here! The road was paved for a while and then it was hard sand/dirt for about 9 miles. The scenery was beautiful! I love some history so I was excited to learn more about this place and it was well worth the drive! The background of this old mine town was Castle Dome mountain - WOW! If you do visit, I recommend you go during the winter months, since they are closed in the summer. Also, if you do go in the spring - beware because that's when the wild life becomes more active: rattlers, coyotes, etc. The fee just for the town was $15 per person, but if you want to do the mine it is $75 per person. I HIGHLY recommend you do the mine tour - which includes access to the town. All in all we were there for about 2 hours. The best part of this place is that it is Pet Friendly 😍, so we took our fur baby along with us. Please if you do take your pet, please clean up after them!! Take food/snacks and water, as there is NO convenience store anywhere.
  • Lots of interesting buildings to look at. They do a great job on describing each building and items in it. Very interesting to walk around and see everything. You can scan a barcode with your phone and that will give you a self guided tour of the place. They prefer cash for the entrance fee, however will take a credit card if you don't have enough cash, but it will cost an extra $1 per person. We didn't do the mine tour as it was $75 per person and we had a group. A bit too pricey for all of us. Definitely worth going to see if you are in the area. Parking is limited and when we were there, no food available although I believe they have some on the weekends.
