  • This is a pretty easy out and back trail which we did about 9AM on a Tuesday in late October. We had the trail all to ourselves. Our kids ( 14, 11, 9) had no problems with completing it without complaints! The walk is really pretty with excellent views to the east and west. The end is really beautiful with 360* views of the area. Vault toilets are at the trailhead and a nice paved road to get there.
  • We had such a wonderful walk on this easy 1 mile overlook trail at the beginning of golden hour. The 5 mile drive in was spectacular from the Visitor’s Centre. The walk itself was easy going on pretty red sand with gorgeous views on either side of the ridge. Getting to the overlook, the view was expansive and we just sat for a few minutes chatting and listening to the quiet. At the overlook, there isn’t a view point so much as a series of large diagonal stones moving towards a point. You can choose to view from the end of the trial or clamber out over the rocks to reach the point. Gorgeous either way. Not a lot of people here in October which was a bonus. Easy on and off the I-15 to experience some of the majesty of Zion in a short visit (can do in less than an hour) if you don’t have time (or patience with crowds) to go to the main park. This is a fee area (National Parks Pass or day use fee). Currently credit card only at the Kolob Canyons entrance.
